In this perfect family portrait we see Taro, Chiko and Ichigo (left to right); three beautiful examples of the Shiba Inu breed, which is incredibly popular in Japan.
The Shiba Inu is the smallest of the six original and distinct spitz breeds of dog from Japan and of the few ancient dog breeds still in existence in the world today.
Inu is the Japanese word for dog, but the origin of the prefix “Shiba” is less clear. The word shiba means “brushwood” in Japanese, and refers to a type of tree or shrub whose leaves turn red in the fall. [source]
And of course, Doge is an Internet meme that became popular in 2013 and consists of a picture of a Shiba Inu accompanied by multicolored text in Comic Sans font in the foreground.
