Two weeks after the horrific Stoneman Douglas High School shooting where 17 people were killed and 16 more were injured; students of the Parkland, Florida high school returned to class on February 28th.
To help assist with the transition back to school, students were met with more than 40 therapy dogs along with members from the community including: parents, police officers, neighbours and counsellors.
According to Stoneman Douglas High School’s Principal Thompson, the therapy dogs have been so helpful and comforting they continue to be on campus for any students and faculty members needing their unconditional love and affection.
