As a parent, nothing is worse than seeing your child get hurt or bullied while at school.

What would you do if your young daughter got hit by another little girl who had been bullying her in class?

That is what happened in this story, so Dad called the school to demand that the other little girl be suspended or at least moved to another classroom, but the principal refused. Now Dad is very upset, but he wonders if he might be overreacting.

Personally, I think that Dad is overreacting a little bit here and that he should give the school a chance to deal with the situation. Read through the full story and see what you think.

Aita for thinking the school should move a student?

So, my daughter (4), lets call her Lilly, was assaulted by another little girl (4/5) lets call her Kayla.

Kids fight sometimes; it usually isn’t a big deal.

I got a message through the school app stating that my daughter and another student was in a situation.

Kayla was having a bad day and was already upset and Lilly is very kind and compassionate (teachers exact words) and was trying to make her feel better.

Yikes, this could have been much worse.

Kayla swung her hand that had children’s scissors and cut my daughters nose. Not bad at all, it didn’t even bleed but did leave a mark and took the first couple layers of skin off.

Mind you I did not receive a phone call. So, when my daughter got home I asked her what happened. She said that Kayla cut her nose.

This is more serious than he thought.

Then I asked aren’t you two friends she said no Kayla bully me. Mind you I teach my kids what bullying looks like so they don’t do it to others.

I asked bully how she then informed me that this little kid had been pushing, shoving, and sometimes smacking her while in class.

It really isn’t his job to talk to the other girl at this point.

So, naturally I called the teacher and she explained what happened in detail and said she would be talking to the little girl tomorrow about it.

This is where I think I’m out of line. I’m livid to say the least. The most this teacher can do to assure me is say that Kayla will be permanently removed if something like this happens.

This is pretty extreme for little kids.

I think that Kayla should have been suspended or something a little harsher, or moved to a different class.

The principal does not see it as a serious offense and isn’t doing more.

AITA?

While it is good that he is standing up to protect his daughter, he seems to be a bit extreme. He reported the situation to the teacher; now he should give them a chance to address it.

Read on to see what the people in the comments have to say about the situation.

They were clearly safety scissors. She didn’t even bleed.

Why would she be removed?

Dad is really overreacting here, and he needs to just let the teachers handle it. To demand that a 4-year-old get suspended is just crazy.

It would be one thing to ask the teacher to move one of the girls to a different desk. Or even just to keep a closer eye on them, but this is over the top.
