A Woman Got So Frustrated With The Parking Situation On Her Street That She Complained About It To The City Council

You know things have to be pretty bad if a person goes out of their way and complains to their city council about it…
But here we are, folks!
And today’s complaint is about street parking.
It may sound a bit dramatic to complain about something like that, but if you’ve ever lived somewhere and had to deal with major parking issues every day, you’ll probably understand where this woman is coming from.
Let’s take a look at what she’s dealing with!
WIBTA for contacting the council about parking knowing it will cause problems for my neighbours?
“The parking in my cul de sac is very limited (it wouldn’t be if each house only had one car, but it’s not like that can change anytime soon).
It consists of a few actual spaces and a residential car park which can fit up to 7 cars. The only spaces that are reserved are ones for people that have disabled vehicles.
It’s a roll of the dice…
The rest is pretty much a free for all. If you get home at the wrong time, you don’t get a space.
A couple of the houses have several cars per house for different reasons (I’m talking up to 4-6 cars per 2 bedroom house) and half of those cars hardly ever move and end up taking up a lot of space.
This sounds really frustrating…
My household (myself, husband and baby) has just the one car, but often get blocked in by neighbours which has caused some problems. I’ve been late to work more than once because I’ve been blocked in the night before which has gotten me in trouble at work.
What tipped me over the edge was when my baby got taken to hospital in an ambulance last week (I couldn’t go, as only one parent was allowed in due to Covid) but I went a couple of hours later and was obviously worried sick, and found my car blocked in AGAIN.
What is with these people?
Then when I went to knock on the door of the owner, they acted like I was in the wrong for asking them to get out of bed to move their car.
So I decided I was fed up with fighting for a parking space every other day and contacted the council about the problem. I’m not sure what I’m hoping for exactly, maybe designated spaces?
Thing is I know that my neighbours with multiple cars might end up not having anywhere to park half their cars.
I feel guilty, but on the other hand I think what if next time I have an emergency I can’t get hold of my neighbours?
It feels like every other time I need to use my car it inconveniences someone else.”

This is too much!
And the last thing a person should have to deal with is parking problems after a long day of work.
Ugh!
You can’t blame her for getting super fed up with this situation!
