Toxic workplaces can feel even more draining when communication never stops.
The following story is about an employee who deals with narcissistic bosses in her remote job.
She would constantly receive passive-aggressive messages and criticism from them.
Instead of reacting emotionally, she found a unique way to handle the situation without escalating conflict.
Now, she’s sharing this technique with anyone who’s in a similar situation.
If you can relate, take a closer look to find out all the details.
Using AI as a literal firewall against your narcissistic boss
For anyone currently trapped in a toxic, remote job with a narcissistic boss or colleague, I wanted to share a survival strategy.
It has completely given me my power back.
From now on, I am no longer emotionally communicating with them.
Instead, I am using AI as a literal psychological firewall.
This employee lets AI respond to her boss’s toxic remarks.
Whenever they throw a passive-aggressive jab, a patronizing critique, or a gaslighting comment my way via Slack, I do not let my cortisol spike. I do not sit there agonizing over how to respond without setting them off.
Instead, I copy-paste their jab directly into my favorite AI tool.
It already knows what I am dealing with.
Then, the AI instantly generates a flawless response using the Grey Rock Method.
Technically, the narcissist is now talking to the AI.
It feeds their fragile egos. It leaves them with absolutely nothing to complain about to HR. It shuts down the drama cycle instantly.
The narcissist is not talking to me anymore. They are effectively arguing with an algorithm and they do not even know it.
It removes the emotional toll.
You stop wasting your precious energy trying to decode their toxic psychology. You just become the middleman passing text back and forth.
She suggests doing this if employees are working remotely.
You get to smirk behind the screen. While they think they are “winning” or breaking you down, you are completely detached. You are doing the bare minimum and are using your peace of mind to look for a new job.
If you work remotely and communication is mostly written, try this.
Put up the AI firewall, protect your peace, and let them talk to a robot.
Wow, that’s actually a clever way to deal with constant negativity without draining yourself.
Haha! I think it sounds genius, especially with how it detaches you from the potential emotional effect of the toxic remarks,
I guess as long as it keeps things professional and helps you stay sane, it’s a pretty smart solution. Don’t you think so, too?
