Sometimes, finding out a little more about your past can suddenly make a lot of things make sense.
One person is having that realization after learning his parents received plenty of noise complaints when he was growing up.
Back then, he had no idea anyone thought the family was loud.
Now that he’s moved out, though, the same thing keeps happening in his own home.
After years of thinking everyone else was being too sensitive, he’s starting to wonder if maybe his idea of “normal” noise is the problem.

Maybe I am the problem?
Today, I found out my parents got lots of noise complaints when I was a kid, and I never knew.
Someone even called the cops on us for the noise.
I moved out a couple of years ago, and since then, I’ve been getting endless noise complaints.
Now, he wonders how people stay so quiet inside their homes.
My parents would always tell me I was quiet when I told them, but I’m now starting to think maybe my whole family might just be loud.
That’s why I couldn’t understand why I was getting so many complaints, because it felt like a normal amount of noise.
What do people who are quiet do all day in their homes? Do they just sleep? How are you so quiet?
Too funny! Some people are just really loud.
Let’s see what the folks over at Reddit had to say about it.

That’s what he should be asking.
Well, it sounds like he may have finally figured out what’s going on.
If his parents got noise complaints too, then his idea of what’s “normal” may be a little louder than everyone else’s.
At least he’s willing to question it instead of assuming every neighbor is just being difficult.
The best part is that now he can start paying attention to what he’s doing and see if that finally puts an end to the complaints.
