There’s only so much noise you can take before it starts affecting everything else.

One European resident is dealing with that after a neighbor began revving his car engine around 4 a.m. almost every morning.

The problem is that by the time the noise finally stops, she’s already wide awake with only a couple of hours left before work.

And unfortunately, the car isn’t the only problem, because the family’s young child also spends much of the day screaming.

Now, she’s exhausted and wondering whether it’s time to leave a note or call the police.

Obnoxious loud neighbor

Right now, it’s 5am.

I’m lying awake because my stupid man-child of a neighbor can’t stop revving the engine of his stupid car at 4am!

They are across the street, and I hear it like it’s standing in front of my bedroom window.

Dealing with it every day has left him pretty exhausted.

This happens almost every morning from 4am-5am (and multiple times during the day) they also have a kid (around 6yo) who just screams. No word, only annoying loud screams!

Usually I have to get up at 6 for work. But because of them, I’m laying awake for 2 hours.

I’m so tired that I can’t think of a proper note to write. Also thought about contacting police but I have bad experience with them. What would you do?

Eek! Living by people like this is never cool.

Let’s check out what the folks over at Reddit have to say about neighbors like that.

Here’s someone who’s had bad experiences in the past.

This would get old really fast.

Nobody wants to lose two hours of sleep every morning because a neighbor feels like revving his engine before sunrise.

She could try a note first and see if he has any interest in being reasonable.

If that goes nowhere, though, she may need to start keeping track of the noise and find out what options she has locally.
