Isn’t it amazing how so many people out there make every single thing all about themselves?

It’s true!

And this story is yet another shining example of what I’m talking about.

A woman opened up about why her sister lost her cool at her daughter’s birthday party…and I’d venture to say that she was the jerk in this situation.

Read on and see what you think about it!

AITA for telling my sister she didn’t have to come to my daughter’s party?

“I (33f) recently threw my daughter a birthday party. It was a cute idea thinking that everything was gonna be cool, but then my sister had to come in and mess it up.

My daughter turned 5. She loves seafood boils, ask her what she wants and she will tell you seafood. So instead of a birthday cake, she got seafood. She don’t care about all that sweet stuff.

Birthdays are supposed to be about the kids, remember…?

It was her birthday so she got what she wanted. When I sent the invitation, everyone knew it was seafood themed and actually seafood. They didn’t give any complaints.

Knowing that everyone doesn’t like seafood, I had a separate table with hot dogs and burgers and fries that they could’ve ate.

Though I didn’t get a cake, my daughter helped me make cupcakes so people can munch on.

The party was in the backyard, I have a big yard so that’s where I had the two food stations. The first station was the seafood spot where my son and husband served it. Next to them was another table where it has seasonings and vegetables, basically customizing their own boil.

The second one had my daughter and her grandpa. They also had chips, soda, juices. So a non-seafood option.

So when it was time to sing Happy Birthday to my daughter, she had her own big personal pan with seafood in it.

So we stick the number candle inside of it and we sung Happy Birthday. People thought it was cute, some laughed.

Here comes the buzzkill…

Boom, my sister (36f) showed up and was already complaining. She said that it wasn’t a real birthday party, supposed to have cake and pizza. She also got upset because her kids didn’t like any of the options.

They mostly eat healthy food, my sister doesn’t like food dyes, greasy foods, she only allows pizza which confuses me but I don’t ask. Claimed that I wasn’t accommodating the guest.

Mind you, she knew what this party was but still decided to come and complain.

I told her that there were burgers, fries, chips, fruit, etc. like I wasn’t forcing anybody to grab seafood.

She said the point was that I should’ve made something for what kids want and not when my daughter wanted. My daughter’s birthday, mind you.

Get lost!

I was tired of her complaining so I told her she didn’t have to come if she had a problem with it. Poor girl was mad, she left and took the kids. The kids didn’t have a problem, their mother did so they couldn’t enjoy it.

And the kids wanted to try the seafood but she shut them down and left. Now she’s telling the family that I embarrassed her, the girl posted something on Facebook trying to shame me.”

This party sounds so fun!

I’d love to go to a seafood boil, no matter how old the guest of honor was.

But someone had to try to ruin it…

Her sister sounds like a total nightmare!
