In an ideal world, we’d all do our best to pitch in, make things look nice, help out our neighbors, and all live happily ever after.

But, let’s be honest…

That ain’t happening!

All kinds of people out there don’t have a considerate bone in their bodies and they’re in constant conflict with all kinds of folks, including their neighbors.

Not mowing lawn.

“I had my most recent neighbor from hell that had dogs that barked for hours, that received many citations finally sell their house and move.

The new buyers, a young couple, have spent weeks what appears to have been cleaning out the place. They have placed solar walkway lights along the back leading from the garage.

Uh oh…

Now after a few weeks their lawn has become an overgrown mess, weeds have overtaken the yard, some over 3 feet.

The garden that was there is now nothing but weeds and the raised flowerbeds are the same. I have mowed along the property line twice, somewhat going over the line to try to keep weeds from encroaching onto mine and went as far as mowing the tree lawn in front of their house.

He’s pretty concerned about this.

I understand they are a young couple and this may be their first home and may not have funds for a mower, but even at this point I would be afraid to offer the use of my lawn tractor or push mower to mow it for fear of what might be hidden in the weeds.

I really don’t want to be the jerk reminding them on maintaining their yard. The city has recently posted about residents not mowing property and will be taking action on those who don’t, but I think it has fallen on deaf ears over there.

At least the neighbors at this point are quiet and no barking dogs, but they seem very reserved and seem to keep to themselves. They are not usually around much and come and go at irregular hours.”
