It’s always a tough decision to decide whether to call the cops on fighting neighbors or just to mind your own business and let it go…

On one hand, you don’t want to get the authorities involved unless it’s absolutely necessary, and you also don’t want to cause any extra drama.

But on the other hand, if it happens over and over again and could potentially be dangerous, what’s a person supposed to do?

Neighbors fighting – where’s the line?

“I live in a small apartment building which is next to a few other houses.

Recently my neighbors have been getting into loud arguments directly outside the building in the shared car park.

It has escalated to where one individual has been loudly shouting a variety of rude slurs.

Someone should do something.

The main aggressor is an adult male (20s) who is living in an assisted living property for adults with disabilities.

There are carers present but they often don’t really help to calm things down at all.

The police have been called at least once before because this person got physical with the carers and locked them out of the building.

I’ve never witnessed more than shouting with the neighbors though.

What should they do about this…?

I’m on my own in the flat so I would never confront anyone but it does seem to be getting more frequent.

I don’t want to waste police time or target someone with a disability but the neighbors shouldn’t have to deal with abuse and the other families in the area shouldn’t have to hear it.

Is there a line where it’s appropriate to report or am I being over dramatic?”
