Getting deliveries is a normal part of modern life, though sometimes it can be annoying.
What would you do if your neighbor got multiple deliveries per day, and the trucks that things came in were always loud and annoying? Would it bother you if the deliveries came early in the morning or late at night?
That is what the couple in this story is dealing with, and he thinks that it is extremely rude and selfish for his neighbor to get deliveries like this.
Personally, I think this guy is being too sensitive. It is none of his business if his neighbor wants to get deliveries. If the trucks are too loud, he should complain to the companies. Read through the full story below, and see if you agree.
Cheesed off by neighbour’s Sunday 6.30 AM groceries delivery. Surely I’m not being unreasonable?
I live at the front of a block of 4 flats on a quiet residential street.
This means I bear the brunt of constant noise and disruption from my neighbours’ never ending daily stream of deliveries from Amazon/takeaway/various supermarkets.
Now I’m a reasonable person, and accept that deliveries (annoying as they are) are part and parcel of modern life.
I’m not sure how this is selfish.
But there is one neighbour who does my head in with his selfish online delivery habits.
There is a huge Sainsburys up the road, which is a five minute walk, yet he gets a once or twice-weekly Sainsbury’s delivery.
He’s perfectly young and able-bodied, so it’s not an issue of accessibility, but bone-idle laziness.
These deliveries are always incredibly noisy and disruptive, and always booked at the most inconsiderate times of the morning and night.
The issue seems to be with the delivery drivers, not the neighbor.
If it’s not early on a weekend morning it’s usually around 11pm on a weekday night, when I’m trying to sleep after a long day of work.
Every time, their driver bangs around loudly, forcefully pushing their trolleys on the floor in an aggressive manner, slamming their van door, then loudly forcing the trolley onto the pathway to my front door and causing the maximum noise possible, vice versa.
This is coupled with the hideously loud noise their vans emit as they reverse, and more often than not, them shouting down their phones.
I’ve aleady complained twice to Sainsbury’s about the unreasonable levels of noise from their drivers.
So, the driver was just doing their job.
But this morning took the absolute….. At 6.25 am (on a Sunday), I was awoken by one of their vans reversing and making an inordinate level of noise and it pulled up.
The driver then noisily unloaded the groceries before delivering them to the front door.
Piqued by this, I got dressed an went to the front door to tell her her van had woken me and my partner, and this was unreasonable at such an early hour on a Sunday morning.
The driver’s response was to give me attitude and say “how have I woken you? I haven’t made any noise”.
His neighbor seems to like to avoid human contact.
I explained that the van reversing loudly is what woke me and my partner up.
And he goes “it’s not down to me, but your neighbour ordering at this time”.
The neighbour then appears and I said to him “it’s completely unfair to your neighbours to be getting deliveries at 6.30am om a Sunday. It’s woken me and my partner up”. I was very calm and reasoned in my approach.
To this, he said absolutely nothing. No apology, just pig-ignorant silence.
What was in the delivery doesn’t really matter.
To top it all off, his delivery was merely multiple bags of microwave rice!!
Yes, that was really worth all the noise and hassle on a Sunday morning.
Seriously, what’s wrong with people?!
Honestly, this guy seems like an overly sensitive jerk. He is yelling at the wrong people, and a 6 AM delivery isn’t that early.

He can’t know whether he is disabled or not, and it doesn’t really matter.
If you can’t tolerate the noise of a delivery truck, you shouldn’t live anywhere near other people. Getting this upset over something that is so common is a little crazy.
He doesn’t like the noise, which is reasonable, but it is on him to fix the issue. Get some ear plugs, a white noise machine, or add some soundproofing to your house.
