Bad breath can be more than annoying when someone refuses to deal with what might be causing it.

One woman is dealing with that after years of trying to get her boyfriend to take better care of his teeth.

He rarely goes to the dentist, and even promised he’d finally make an appointment for her birthday.

However, he never followed through, and now his breath has gotten worse.

So, she told him they won’t be sharing a bed until he gets checked out.

Read on to see why he thinks she took things too far.

AITA for telling my boyfriend to go to the dentist

I (25F) and my boyfriend (26M) have been fighting the past few days over him going to the dentist.

My boyfriend told me when we first got together that he has only been to the dentist once in the past 7 years and vowed never to go back. Additionally, he only brushes his teeth 85% of the time.

My mom was a dental hygienist, so I really value dental care.

She finally gave him an ultimatum.

I have brought up going to the dentist since the beginning of our relationship, and we made a deal that for my birthday he would finally go. However, he did not hold up his end of the bargain.

Recently, his breath has been pretty stinky even right after brushing his teeth, and I told him to either go to the dentist or we aren’t sharing a bed.

He said his feelings are hurt and that his breath isn’t that bad, but I am genuinely just concerned about his health.

AITA?

Yikes! It sounds like she’s just trying to help him, but that’s a sensitive subject for some people.

Let’s see what the people over at Reddit think about what she did here.

It’s nice that she cares enough to worry about his health.

However, he told her from the beginning that he hated going to the dentist and had no plans to go back.

So, she probably should’ve known this was eventually going to become an issue between them.

At some point, she has to decide whether this is something she can live with or not.
