Small things can become big hassle when the same neighbor keeps doing it over and over.

That’s what one apartment resident has been dealing with since moving into a new place with her boyfriend.

Her upstairs neighbor keeps parking in a no-parking zone that blocks the sidewalk and makes it harder to get past.

After a polite note didn’t change anything, she started folding in the car’s side mirror whenever she walked by.

Then, the neighbor caught her doing it and came outside angry enough that she’s scared to go outside alone.

AITA for closing my neighbors car mirrors everyday?

I (22F) and my boyfriend (22M) just moved to a new apartment. We live on the ground floor because of my dog, but we love it.

There is a no-parking zone right outside two of our windows. My upstairs neighbors have been parking in the no-parking zone since we moved in.

I wrote a very nice note asking them to please move because they are parked in a no-parking zone, block my windows, and, most importantly, block the sidewalk for everyone, so we all have to walk through rocks (the medium-sized, one-wrong-step-you’re-falling type) to get to the sidewalk.

Today, a lady came out yelling at her.

One of them moved to their reserved parking spot, and I parked my bike there to try and stop the other. It did not.

I have been closing their side mirrors every time I go past (I know it’s a little childish), one, to fit past them to the sidewalk, and two, because I want them to know it bothers me.

Today, I went out to put out the trash. I closed a mirror, and when I turned around, she was storming outside yelling at me, “Did you touch my ****? Don’t touch my ****.”

She tried to remain calm throughout the whole thing.

Very obviously trying to fight me, so I walked away.

I calmly responded that she can’t park there and I move them to get past. She responded that there was nowhere to park, and I pointed out many empty parking spots for her to go to.

She said I was parking there yesterday, which I was, to which I told her I was moving a whole bookshelf and, if she didn’t notice, I moved after I was done.

She continued to try to have a problem, and I told her I would text the landlord and to leave me alone.

Now, she’s scared to even go outside.

I did text the landlord, who said he can’t do anything, but I can call the police to ticket her every time she parks there.

I watched her as she went back outside on the phone very angry, and watched as she touched my bike and debated pushing it over. Thankfully, she didn’t and drove away very angrily.

I’m honestly scared to go outside without a weapon or my boyfriend in case she tries something, and I’m setting cameras up to watch my bikes.

I know I shouldn’t have moved her mirrors, but I was tired of almost breaking an ankle on the rocks going around her car, and I’m sure everyone else was too.

Now that the landlord has told her she can report the illegal parking, that seems like the better way to handle it.
