Some neighbors can get surprisingly territorial about public parking.

This woman is dealing with an ongoing parking problem on her street due to limited parking spaces. So sometimes, she parks in front of her neighbors’ house, which has apparently become a source of tension. However, the neighbors’ reaction to it has only made things more awkward.

This story is one of those frustrating neighbor situations where a lack of parking can quickly turn into a personal dispute. I’m sure many of us have experienced this. Read the full story below.

Neighbors car bumping into my car

Neighbors are all so aggressive about parking. I feel like there’s nothing I can do.

Parking is an issue on our street, partially because people refuse to use their drive way space.

But that’s whatever, it’s public street parking after all.

This man would park in front of the neighbor’s house when he couldn’t find a spot.

But these neighbors have been parking their car taking up two spots.

When I get home early and the only spot available on the street is in front of their house I park there.

They’ve left notes warning me that if I park near their driveway (on the street parking in front of their house) that they may hit my car in accident.

Today, they parked touching my car, when there was clearly plenty of space for their car to move more forward.

He’s unsure how to deal with the whole situation.

I’ve confronted them about other things before like them blowing trash on my car.

That resolved nothing but making them more aggressive towards me.

I wouldn’t park in front of their house if I didn’t have to, but sometimes that the only parking on the street.

I’m at the point where I don’t know what to do or if there’s any legal action I could take?

It’s understandable for OP to feel frustrated, especially if she’s only parking there because there are no other available spaces. The neighbors could have handled the situation more reasonably instead of making threats and deliberately parking extremely close to her car.

Public spaces aren’t part of private property.
