Dealing with a difficult neighbor is one thing, dealing with actual damage to your car is a whole different problem.
One homeowner spent hours addressing a laundry list of grievances with her next door neighbor, none of which he ever seemed to take seriously.
Things took a sharper turn when his oversized work truck, parked in an incredibly inconsiderate way, ended up scratching her bumper, despite her having left more than enough space.
To make matters worse, this wasn’t an isolated incident, and the neighbor showed no signs of changing his way.
That’s when she started questioning whether photo evidence alone would be enough to resolve her neighbor’s selfish attitude.
Keep reading for the full scoop.
Neighbor scratched my front bumper, frustrated about parking situation
This has been a recurring event with my next door neighbor.
When there is no parking on the street, I park on the street in front of their house.
Their neighbor’s car takes up quite a lot of space.
They have a big work truck that they double park on the street blocking two parking spots, and today touched and scratched the front of my car bumper.
I parked leaving them plenty of space to park their truck, and took photo evidence of there being plenty of curb space in front of him.
The neighbor clearly doesn’t return the favor, and this homeowner is growing fed up.
They parked their car touching my car, and after looking at my car they left a clear scratch on the bumper.
I am beyond frustrated because this is the second time they did this, once to a family member’s car, and now to mine.
But each time they confront the neighbor, the neighbor only gets more aggressive.
I’ve talked to them before about other issues, such as blowing their yard trash onto my car when they garden, and they did nothing about it.
They’ve gotten more aggressive, and I don’t know what to do now.
The homeowner starts to weigh their options.
Should I call the non emergency line?
Is there anything that can realistically be done if the only evidence I have is photos of their car touching/leaving a scratch on my car?
After I moved my car and came back home, they have now moved their truck blocking the two parking spots in front of their house. This is such a frustrating situation.
This sounds like a complete nightmare.

This user thinks this situation is starting to get scary enough to escalate.
This commenter has no shortage of creative ideas to get back at the neighbor.
It’s time to start taking some sneaky footage.
The time for subtlety is over.
This stopped being a “let’s just talk it out” situation a loooong time ago.

She’s tried the nice route already, brought up the yard trash thing, gave him more than enough space for his truck, and none of it mattered.
Now there’s an actual scratch and an actual pattern documented by actual photos.
You can’t always count on people doing the right thing on their own, and left unchecked, this neighbor may even escalate to even worse behavior.
Since words clearly don’t get through to him, it’s time to let her dash cam start doing the talking.
