Imagine having a next door neighbor who has loud parties until 2am but acts like the victim and accuses you of calling the police. What would you do?

If it were me, I’d own up to it because that’s way too late to have a loud party. But in this story, the homeowners actually didn’t call the police. They didn’t do any of the things their awful neighbor accused them of doing.

Now, they’re wondering what to do about all the lies the neighbor is spreading about them.

Cyberbullied on Our Neighborhood What’s App Chat

We moved to a subdivision 3 years ago.

To make a long story short, our next door neighbors are harassing us publicly on What’s App Neighborhood chat.

We can call them Cruella and Goofy.

Meet Curella and Goofy…

Cruella drinks a lot and is an obnoxious drunk. She is very manipulative and controlling.

She is good at pushing our buttons and then playing the victim while making others believe that we are at fault. S

he will try to get you all riled up and then make you look like the bad guy.

Her husband is very henpecked and will never tell her anything.

They used to be friends.

We used to go to each other’s houses along with other neighbors when they held dinner parties, but we had a falling out and we are no longer talking.

They have loud parties that last until 2 a.m. They put up bright spotlights that are frequently shining into our windows and backyard.

Now they have started accusing us of calling the cops when they have one of their parties.

Last week they had a party until 2 with DJ’s and a stage and very bright screen. We saw all this because we couldn’t hear our TV in the room near their house. And our windows’ blinds couldn’t keep the light from showing into our room.

Maybe they should’ve called the police.

About 2:15 a.m., we saw that she posted on our group chat. It was all kinds of rants about us, including out and out lies.

They said we called the police.

We have never called the police on them.

And they also said we have cameras pointing towards their house and yard, recording them.

They are the ones who actually have closed circuit cameras inside and out.

Here’s the truth and more lies.

We only have a doorbell camera that doesn’t point to them because they are to the side of us. We have one camera in the garage because Amazon often leaves packages inside by opening our garage with an app and my husband worries about his tools and bikes.

They accused us of complaining to the HOA because they park 3 diesel pick-ups on the street off their curb.

The by-laws require all vehicles to be parked either in the drive way or garage.

She just went on and on, completely badmouthing us, lying and making us look bad among the neighbors.

She isn’t sure what to do.

We don’t know a lot of people here all that well, and now our reputations are ruined.

I can’t ever post on the group chat without her immediately posting an ugly emoji that is supposed to be me.

People have told me that my husband and I should just get off the chat group, but why should it be me?

My husband wrote to the HOA manager, but she says there is nothing that the HOA can do.

I am Just wondering if someone on a group chat can tell lies about us and make the other neighbors to believe her. I think it sounds like Libel and Defamation of Character, which could be grounds for a civil suit, perhaps.

Honestly, I would’ve called the police about a party with a DJ until 2am. Actually, I have called the police about that exact thing before. Did we have the same next door neighbors?

Here’s the thing. Someone called the police on the next door neighbor, and it wasn’t OP. That means one (or more) of the neighbors was upset enough about the late night party that they called the police.

That means that the neighbors know the next door neighbor is lying and awful. They surely don’t believe anything she says about OP.

OP should talk to the other neighbors. They should all call the police the next time the next door neighbor has a late night party.

Her neighbors are probably on her side.
