Neighbors should respect each other’s property and belongings.

In this story, a woman caught her elderly neighbor using her recycling and yard waste bins without permission at 1 am.

Without consideration, the neighbor even made enough noise to wake her dogs.

Things escalated when she confronted him and asked him to stop, but he continued anyway.

Yikes! Who knew midnight neighbor chaos can erupt over a recycling bin?

Check out the full details below.

Neighbor came and filled up my entire recycling bin at 1 am

We are renting a duplex.

Our 65-ish elderly neighbor we never met or talked to before came by in the middle of the night at 1 am.

He made a racket that woke our dogs, with so much banging.

When I checked out the camera, he was dumping a bunch of stuff in our recycling that isn’t recyclable.

And also used our yard waste.

This woman confronted the elderly neighbor.

I went out and said, “I don’t know you. What are you doing? Please stop.”

He would not listen. I’m so tired of people not listening just because I’m not mean enough.

He just kept dumping. He said he was our neighbor. Never even said hi to us.

I went back inside. I’ve saved the recordings.

But she doesn’t know how to deal with him.

What would you do? We have biweekly recycling, so now we are fudged.

I found out who it was by talking to my other neighbor.

He has permission to use their cans, and they were next door, but he used ours.

Could have pulled forward 2 inches and been at the right cans. What should I do?

Whoa! This honestly sounds like trespassing.

Showing up at 1 a.m. to dump unwanted items into someone else’s bins would be frustrating enough.

But continuing after being asked to stop makes it even worse.

At least OP has cameras that were able to catch the unwanted midnight recycling activity.
