Father Handmakes More Than 100 Exquisite Dresses for His Daughter
33-year-old Xu Ruiqin from China’s Jiangxi province has handmade more than 100 dresses for his daughter, starting she was four years old.
Known as the “tailor father,” Ruiqin is self-taught, and masterminds the process of each dress, from cutting the fabric to final makeup touches before filming the finished product. Ruiqin’s undeniable talent is inspired by the places he and his daughter visit. He makes traditional Chinese costumes, Japanese lolita dresses (his daughter’s favorites), and even a Hanfu.
For Ruiqin, sharing his work online has enhanced his relationship with his little girl. The dresses allow them to bond, share memories, and enjoy beautiful souvenirs that will likely become treasured family heirlooms.
