Neighbors should respect each other’s driveways and access.

In this story, a woman was dealing with a neighbor who repeatedly blocked her driveway with their car.

She and her husband had already asked them not to block their driveway, especially since sometimes she had to leave for work unexpectedly.

While the neighbors acknowledged the problem, they continued parking into her driveway.

Whoa! That sounds really annoying. Check out the full details below.

What to do when neighbors block driveway?

I’m looking for some advice on how to handle a neighbor who repeatedly blocks my driveway.

At first, they were only blocking it by a couple of inches.

But now, they’re parking far enough into the driveway that an entire car is blocking me from getting out.

I’ve already asked them politely not to block my driveway, and they said they understood.

Unfortunately, they continue to do it.

This woman and her husband had politely asked the neighbor not ot block their driveway.

My husband has also spoken to them about it. So it’s not like they’re unaware that it’s an issue.

The biggest problem is that I sometimes need to leave for work unexpectedly or have an emergency where I need to get out quickly.

I really don’t want to be stuck waiting for someone to move their car, especially when every minute can matter.

I’ve tried being polite, and both my husband and I have mentioned it to them.

But nothing seems to change.

She finds it very inconvenient to have to wait for someone to move their vehicle.

For example, I needed to leave this afternoon, and I have a huge SUV blocking my driveway.

The lady takes her time to move it.

I am frustrated, and I don’t know what to do anymore. At this point, I’m not sure what else I can do.

What would you recommend?

I couldn’t agree more! It is really frustrating when someone doesn’t respect other people’s boundaries.

What’s worse is that OP’s neighbor has acknowledged the problem multiple times, yet they kept doing the same thing anyway.

Since OP may need to leave unexpectedly for work or an emergency, having her driveway blocked is more than just an inconvenience.

Sadly, it had become the neighbor’s unofficial parking spot. Wouldn’t you hate it, too?

Let’s see how others reacted to this story.

The driveway must remain open at all times. Period.
