On the remote glacial lagoons of Patagonia, the critically endangered Hooded Grebe (Podiceps gallardoi) performs a mesmerizing mating dance that has been caught on film for the very first time.
The species was only discovered by humans 43 years ago, but have become critically endangered ever since a few American Minks (Neovison vison)—who were introduced to Patagonia for commercial fur production in the 30s—escaped and wreaked havoc on the ill-prepared birds.
