Since the pandemic started, fitness instructor Khing Hnin Wai has been regularly filming her aerobics videos on the empty roads of Myanmar’s capital, Nay Pyi Taw.
This Monday however, she unknowingly captured the moment the army were executing a military coup, detaining Aung San Suu Kyi and other democratically elected leaders from her party.
Later that day, the military would take power, declaring a year-long state of emergency. Ms. Khing said the roundabout had been her favourite location to dance “in the past 11 months”.
