These Porcelain Plate Designs Actually Depict a World of Destruction

Artist Don Moyer has designed a series of porcelain plates that may look traditional, but a closer inspection reveals a world being ravaged by monsters, machines, pirates and aliens. The plates are now in their second series (6 total designs to date) with projects initially funded on Kickstarter and then made available through Don’s online store.

While the original series were “on-glaze” the newest series are “in-glaze” and will be produced at the award-winning Kristoff porcelain workshop in Poland. You can learn more about the difference between the glazing techniques as well as how the plates are made here.

If you dig what you see, Don has just created a new Kickstarter project for the series’ first-ever mug, entitled: Things-Could-Be-Worse
