Fifteen years is a long time to keep fighting with the same neighbor.

One condo owner has watched her middle-aged neighbor spend over a decade parking in her spot whenever it’s convenient for her.

Coming home exhausted after 12-hour nursing shifts to find her spot occupied has become routine, forcing her to confront the woman directly, an exchange that reliably ends in cursing and insults.

Reporting the violation to the HOA results in a fine, but it also results in the woman’s adult daughter waiting on the sidewalk to argue on her mother’s behalf every single time.

With another fine going out today and the unit currently up for sale, she’s bracing for yet another round of the same confrontation.

Always with the parking

Condo owner here (my unit is actively up for sale). There’s a woman in her 50s that has a habit over the course of the last 15 years that will park in my spot at her convenience.

All owners in our condominium building have one deeded designated parking spot. Mine happens to be near her patio entry.

Her neighbor’s lack of consideration is starting to have some serious consequences for her daily routine.

I’m an RN, and every time I see her car in my spot when I get home from my 12 hr shift, I’m filled with dread and frustration.

I have to idle in the lot and get out and go ask her to move. It always ends with her cursing me and calling me and my son filthy names.

No matter what this nurse does, the neighbor just won’t budge.

She refuses to move it, so I take a photo and send it to HOA. I’m sick of parking on the street and walking home.

She’s just miserable.

Now the neighbor has other family members on her side.

Even worse, when she gets the bill (fines for parking in my spot) from the HOA, she has her adult daughter confront me by standing out on the sidewalk waiting for me to get home.

Of course, the daughter will do anything to justify her mother’s bad behavior.

giving me 101 different excuses as to why her mother parked in my spot “for 2 seconds.”

Listen, I ask her to move and she didn’t.

I’m not in the business of teaching grown women how to act.

Anyway, she’s getting another bill today. I’d love some creative responses for when I get home, because believe me, they will be wearing a hole in the concrete waiting for me to pull in.

This neighbor (and her daughter) needs to get a grip on reality.

The HOA really needs to do their job here.

It could be time to take legal action.

Some people are beyond reasoning with.
