In a perfect world, everyone would be respectful of their neighbors and get along well. That is not reality, however.
What would you do if you had some new neighbors move onto your street, and between their constant littering, unsafe driving, and a variety of other issues, they are ruining the whole neighborhood?
That is what has happened to the family in this story, and they are not sure what else they can do to try to get them to stop. Even after complaining, calling the police, and reporting it to the city council, nothing has changed.
Personally, I think they need to keep documenting the behavior and reporting them to the relevant agencies to try to get it to stop. Read through the full story below and see if you can think of any better ideas.
Two neighbors ruining the street
Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin!
The new neighbors are causing some issues.
Me and my partner moved into our semi detached house almost 3 years ago. In that time, two families have moved in a couple of doors down from us, they face each other.
I believe one family has a mortgage and the other family is renting or social housing maybe? Both families have so many kids it’s not even funny, they are all loud and whiny and just seem to do whatever they like as the parents either don’t bother to look or just don’t care it seems.
What kind of family leaves a mess for the whole neighborhood?
This section of the road is like literally like a bombsite, when you walk or drive up the street and get to this section it’s just grubby, litter everywhere, toys left on the pavement, the tarmac is stained with food and other crap. It’s just plain disgusting really and an eyesore.
I don’t understand how the parents can live like this and think it’s acceptable to let their kids just be dirty and disrespectful, one of them left A4 pieces of paper outside and they have blown all across the street and into other people’s gardens/driveways and they couldn’t care less.
They don’t care at all about the other people in the neighborhood.
Just today about an hour ago they’ve had some young friends around, so they decided to play football on the street instead of the park at the end of the street. I watched them purposely boot the ball at my car which is on my driveway out of the way and they all laughed, I though just leave it.
Then they did the exact same thing but this time it came really close to my wall so I had enough and went outside. I said to them ‘can you not kick the ball at my car and house, be more careful’, they replied with blaming each other so I went back inside.
These people are just trashy.
Then the dad came outside on his electric e-bike rubbish and started speeding up and down the street and popping wheelies. He then proceeded to take turns having his kids on the bike with him and speed up and down the street and pop wheelies.
He has 3 kids, a son around 8 or 9, a daughter that’s about 4 or 5 and a toddler still in nappies… literally no protective gear or care in the world. The mum came outside and just smiled and went back indoors. Like what is actually going on? I can’t be the only one that thinks this is absolutely crazy and worried?
Nasty neighbors are driving this family crazy.
I have no problem with kids playing, yeah they make noise and scream but we were all kids at one point. What I do have a problem with is purposely being little brats and thinking it’s funny and ‘hard’.
They swear so much also, but shout it cause they get excited from a ball hitting the curb… Honestly it’s so exhausting having to deal with this near enough everyday and we don’t want to move as this house has everything we need and it’s cheap enough than we can comfortably live and do things.
Sadly, the city council or police aren’t likely to do anything until someone gets hurt.
I’ve reported the litter to the council twice now, one for fly tipping and the other for general litter. I’ve also reported the dad twice now to crimestoppers uk, one for riding on a motorbike with a balaclava and no number plate and this most recent one as child abuse.
It’s just such a shame, if these families never moved in it would be so peaceful and respectful but as always, they have to ruin it for the rest of us.
Record and document everything, and keep reporting it.
Let me know what you all think about this as I’m curious to know. We are UK based also.
There isn’t a quick fix on this, unfortunately. For now, they should get some cameras put up, and make sure to document everything that happens. Then continue reporting it to the police and other agencies as often as possible.
Read through what the people in the comments have to say about this very frustrating situation.
Yup, just keep doing this.
Here is someone who went through something similar.
This person says the council won’t do anything about it.
Getting cameras is an important first step.

There sure is.
Persistence is key when battling bad neighbors like this. Keep documenting everything they do and report it to the relevant agencies right away.
Eventually, the police, landlords, or whomever will get sick of dealing with them and they will put a stop to it.
