People can do whatever they want when it comes to securing their own homes, but I think that most of us would not be okay with having cameras from a neighbor’s house watching our every move.
What is this, a surveillance state?!?!
The woman you’re about to hear from feels that way, and she’s tired of being watched by her neighbor at all times.
Take a look at what she’s dealing with.
Camera watching.
“My neighbor has recently put up motion detection cameras in her windows facing my house, my driveway and backyard.
Because of how they’re set up, she can’t see in my house, but she can effectively watch when I’m outside of my house, including coming and going.
What the hell is this all about…?
She does not like me or my dog/kids and “reports” the things she doesn’t like me doing to my dad via email [we own the house jointly but I live in it].
She’s an old lady that lives by herself and is likely going to claim that it’s for her own safety, but it legitimately feels like stalking at this point.
Nobody wants to deal with this…
I’ve looked up local laws and ordinances, including the HOA, and she isn’t technically doing anything illegal with the way her cameras are set up, but it feels incredibly invasive, and I am not comfortable with her watching me like this.
I genuinely do not know how to handle this.
I’m so frustrated that I am considering moving out, as much as I don’t want to.
Feels like a surveillance state.”
