A Stranger’s Small Act Of Kindness Turned Her Overwhelming Farmers Market Trip Around

Small kindnesses can stick around for years.

This one started with too many groceries.

When a student struggled at a market, an older woman quietly stepped in.

She handed over a spare bag.

See why that tiny gesture never really disappeared.

Nice old lady helped me out when i was visibly struggling

I remember this moment—it was sometime in 2016, I guess.

I was a student at uni and, on the way home hungry, decided to stop by the farmers market to get some stuff to cook.

But the day wasn’t going as well as she anticipated.

I had not originally planned for this and bought more than I could reasonably stuff into my bag with my laptop. (Where I’m from, it is not usual to get bags at farmers markets—you bring your own.)

So I stopped at a bench, trying to figure it all out.

Luckily, a kind stranger swooped in.

Then this nice old lady showed up and just gave me a spare cotton bag she had and went on with her day.

This act of kindness stuck with her for many years.

Of course, I thanked her, and I have been using this bag for shopping until it sadly disappeared in one of my moves after.

I still think of her sometimes and hope she is doing well.

Years later, she still thinks of the woman fondly, hoping she is happy and well

People often underestimate just how far a small act of kindness can go!

Strangers show kindness in all sorts of ways.

The stranger simply gave OP a spare cotton bag, then went on with her day without making a big deal of it.

OP kept using that bag for years and still remembers the woman long after it disappeared during a move.

Sometimes the smallest rescue comes with handles.
