He Refused To Ring Her Up After Closing, So She Found Out When He Worked And Started Targeting Every Shift

It’s funny how some customers seem to go out of their way to make a worker’s job harder.

For one shift lead, that customer has apparently learned exactly when she works and makes a point of showing up near closing.

The woman waits until the last possible minute to check out and regularly keeps the employee there past closing.

But after months of rude comments and late-night confrontations, the customer finally pushed her too far.

Now, she can’t help but feel like the customer is purposely harassing her.

Read on to see exactly what’s been going on.

Customer purposely staying past close every shift and yelling at me just because one night I told her she couldn’t complete a transaction 30 min past close….

I am a shift lead. I am often alone when I close.

This awful customer comes in only when I work (she learned my schedule) after one incident. She notoriously had no money when coming to the register.

We close at 8. We have a policy where no transactions can be completed past 8:15.

After the first incident, the lady started doing it on purpose.

One night, she came up at 8:30 after me letting her know at 8:15 it was her last chance to check out. When she got to the register, I politely refused to check her out since she ignored policy. She yelled some profanity at me and left without her items.

Nearly every shift, she waits until 7:40 to come in. I’ve seen her wait upwards of an hour to get out of her car.

She will come in and fill two baskets full of items and walk up to the register at 8:14 since she knows the policy and pushes it to the limit to frustrate me. She always says backhanded remarks when I come to the register to check her out.

Then, the lady got really rude.

Today, she overstepped and kept calling people to send her money until 6:20. We closed at 6 today, but the 15-minute policy is the same.

She called me ugly and yelled when I tried to shut down her transaction. I may have messed up because I genuinely shut down and told her she was being disrespectful and she does this every night just to mess with me because of a personal vendetta.

This has been going on for months, and I’m at my breaking point. She gets out early with other management and is sickeningly nice to them.

Unfortunately, she lives in a small town, so there’s no hiding from the woman.

My boss is working on getting her banned, but I have to wait and put up with her until she threatens my safety or physically hurts me so we can file a police report and ban her.

I live in a small town, and she’s been banned from many small businesses for her behavior. This genuinely feels like harassment.

Purposely staying late every shift I work and yelling at me is getting exhausting. One night, she called me on the store phone to yell at me after close just to get the last word in.

Yikes! That customer sounds downright awful to deal with.

Let’s check out what the people over at Reddit would do in this situation.

This person has a good thought.

Crazy Woman He Refused To Ring Her Up After Closing, So She Found Out When He Worked And Started Targeting Every Shift

According to this comment, she should just call the police.

Rude Woman 2 He Refused To Ring Her Up After Closing, So She Found Out When He Worked And Started Targeting Every Shift

That’s such a good point.

Rude Woman 1 He Refused To Ring Her Up After Closing, So She Found Out When He Worked And Started Targeting Every Shift

The manager really should put a stop to it.

This really does sound like harassment.

Showing up near closing every time the cashier works is bad enough, but the woman makes it even worse with her insults.

And if management already knows this has been going on for months, they shouldn’t have to wait until things become physical to step in.

Hopefully, they ban this customer before her behavior gets even worse.
