What the hell happened to being civil to our neighbors?!?!
We see story after story these days about people feuding and fighting with their neighbors…
And I’ve had just about enough of it!
In today’s story, a man explained what happened when he simply asked his neighbor to turn down his music…and it didn’t go well.
Let’s take a look!
Neighbor threatened me.
“My neighbors have a tendency to play their music in their backyard from time to time, to varying degrees of loudness.
Normally I just put on my headphones and ignore it, but today it was BLASTING, and my windows face their backyard, were closed and I could still hear it.
Now, I don’t like confrontation, but I opened my window to my lawn mowing neighbor, and I swear, I was like “Hey, I don’t like to be that neighbor, but can you just bring your music down a bit? I can hear it through my windows.”
Okay…
“WELL, THEN PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. You don’t wanna hear it, put your window down! You think just because you moved in you can tell us what to do? Don’t say anything to me!
Then he just turns it off
“IS THAT BETTER?? IS THAT BETTER??”
And I just continued to emphasize I just wanted him to turn it down, not off, but no.
Wow, this guy sounds unhinged.
“I SAID IS THAT BETTER? Alright man I see you, you’re not gonna like living here, believe that, I’ll get you yours, just wait!”
And I was like “is that a threat?”
And bro just refused to elaborate.
So I just shut my window and called it a wash.
It sounds like this guy was having a REALLY BAD day.
But I have NEVER EVER had an issue with these neighbors in our limited interactions, they’ve been renting longer than I’ve been at the house I just bought a couple months ago, and generally otherwise they just keep to themselves.
And I PROMISE I could not have been chiller with my request, so I don’t know where the explosion came from, but he was IMMEDIATELY at 100 the second I finished asking.
Maybe he’s having a bad day, maybe it’s the heat, but idk where to go from here.
We’re both black in a predominantly black neighborhood, and I don’t want to call the cops and potentially cause even more issues, but I don’t know…that left me really uneasy.”

It sounds like his neighbor has some anger issues…
