As a dog lover, even I have to admit that a dog that barks and whines non-stop is enough to drive anyone crazy.
No, it’s not the dog’s fault, but that doesn’t really make a difference when you’re the person on the receiving end of all the noise and it’s driving you crazy.
The person who wrote this story has had just about enough of the noise coming from their neighbor’s apartment and they’re not sure what to do next.

Neighbor’s dog upstairs whining is driving me nuts (mid floor apartment). Should I report it to management?
“It’s written into house rules, no pets or animals.
Management say they’ll overlook them if no one complains.
Uh oh…
The dude upstairs had a sound system he used to play far too loud, so I put a large speaker in the room right under his and played it even louder a couple evenings.
He’s kept it much more reasonable since then (I had spoken to him about keeping it down several times prior as well, which he ignored).
He lives with his girlfriend and two other housemates in a duplex above mine (their living space, and an attic space with two bedrooms).
They’re tired of dealing with all this noise.
If they moved their bedrooms up to the top of the duplex, they could play their sound system and dog could make all the noise it wants, but obviously I can’t tell them to do that.
If I raise it with management, they’ll just send out a letter illustrating the complaint and telling them to fix it.
I’m unsure what to do, as maybe it would oblige them to get rid of the dog?
Any experiences with such issues?”
