Some neighbors can turn a simple property issue into an unnecessary dispute.
In this story, a woman learned that her neighbors had placed tree trimmings on her side of the property line. When she asked the neighbors to remove the debris, the conversation did not go as smoothly as expected. Now, the back-and-forth has left OP wondering how to handle the situation.
This story is one of those neighbor disputes that could have been avoided with a little respect and communication. Read the full story below. It’s a relatable situation because we all have that difficult neighbor, right?
Neighbor dispute – bulk trash
The neighbors I have moved in about a year ago. I never spoke to them until two weekends ago.
They put their tree trimmings in my property.
We have a chain linked fence where it clearly separates our properties.
I told them I didn’t appreciate them putting their bulk trash on my side, without asking.
This woman was dealing with a difficult neighbor.
The lady was rude and difficult. She made it seem like I was in the wrong for being upset about it.
She said they’d move it the next day (Monday) if the trash did not come by.
Well, the truck picked up the brush, but left logs they sat there until that Friday.
The husband moved the logs, and the lady turned around and left a wooden pallet on the grass strip.
They’re practically playing pallet ping pong.
My sister went by yesterday and moved the pallet.
Later, the lady went outside and moved the pallet back.
What should I do here?
Some neighbors can truly be difficult.
OP’s neighbors should respect the property line and avoid leaving their yard waste on someone else’s property.
Honestly, I think OP may be better off documenting the situation so she can take necessary actions if her neighbors continue to become stubborn.
