If You Stabilize the Sky Instead of the Ground You Get Surreal Views of Earth Like This
Astrophotographer Bartosz Wojczyński created this fascinating timelapse of the Earth’s rotation but instead of stabilizing the ground, he stabilized the sky. Bartosz adds:
23 hours and 56 minutes, one frame per minute. Looped 60 times. Taken in Tivoli, Namibia. Equipment: Nikon D810 + Irix 15 f/2.4, mounted on a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer. The mount “cancels out” Earth’s rotation by slowly spinning in the opposite direction. That’s why the stars are stationary and the landscape rotates around the celestial pole.
