Guy Builds Igloo in Brooklyn and Lists on Airbnb for $200 a Night
For the past week, “Snowmageddon” has wreaked havoc on the United States’ east coast, hammering the area with record snowfalls and shutting down cities and towns across the region.
While the storm has brought cities to a halt, it has not dampened peoples’ creative and entrepreneurial spirits. In Brooklyn, New York, resident Patrick M. Horton decided to build an igloo in his backyard, posting his ‘cool space’ on Airbnb for US$200 a night.
The “Boutique Winter Igloo for 2” was described by Horton as: ‘Built completely by hand all natural. Come experience this chic dome-style bungalow.’ While the listing generated plenty of buzz online, it was eventually removed by Airbnb which said, “Unfortunately, your igloo, while very well constructed, has failed to meet our occupancy standards and has been removed from search results.”

“Dripping with ingenuity and alt-lifestyle aura lays this Snowpocalypse’s most desirable getaway” – Airbnb description
