Being left out is the worst feeling. It makes you wonder why and question your relationships with those involved.

See why this worker is ticked off.

AITAH I was left out of a work event

I work at a health facility. I am head of my department and I took over duties of another department as an interim for a few months.

Today there was a lunch meeting/presentation with a vendor.

But there was a problem.

Lunch was provided and everyone in Admin/Leadership went, except no one told me.

I was at work several hours before the event and my supervisor saw me later in the day. She goes “Oh no we didn’t invite you to the lunch!” Then she acted surprised that she didn’t notify me.

I played it off but I am miffed, it was all of leadership and I am running two of the departments right now!

It’s puzzling.

Lunch would have been nice but it is just more that there was this event and I wasn’t there and my input wasn’t asked for.

The past two days I have participated in work groups for another department. At least she knows she straight up didn’t invite me, not that I blew it off.

Here is what people are saying.

Even it was unintentional, how disorganized is this company?!

Not sure how peaceful it was.

Not sure HR will do anything, but having a record is good.

She won’t forget this.
