Her Neighbors Turned Their Home Into a Late-Night Recording Studio—Leaving One Resident at Her Wits’ End

Midnight traditionally means quiet hours when the world is asleep. But on this street, it just marks the start of another round of screaming and wailing from next door.
One resident has spent weeks enduring loud nightly sessions from a neighboring group of musicians, complete with shrieking, wailing, and screaming that stretches well past midnight, several days a week.
Knocking on the door led nowhere. Multiple calls to the police led nowhere either. No neighborhood watch group exists to step in and help.
The homeowner is growing increasingly hopeless that his peace will ever be restored.

best way to react to neighbors screaming and playing loud music
There are some neighbors on my street who have been playing their music until midnight several days per week.
If there’s one things these neighbors know how to do, it’s to make a ruckus.
They are probably in their 20s and have some kind of music group or rock band, and they “sing” and play instruments and wail and scream until all hours of the night.
There is especially one lady who shrieks and howls and cries while “singing,” and the others either play their instruments or harmonize by wailing and screaming with her.
One homeowner is beginning to feel hopeless about the whole situation.
I don’t know why nobody else has called the police on them or asked them to stop. I’ve knocked on their door and nobody answers, and we have no neighborhood watch group.
I’ve called the police multiple times and given their address, and no one ever shows up.
What can I do now? I’m at my wits’ end, and they are in the middle of a session right now, so I can’t even think straight long enough to write this message through their wailing.
This sounds like a horrible way to live.

Why not exaggerate the truth a bit?

No one can live like this for long.

Sometimes you just have to retaliate with even more noise.

Calling the police multiple times should count for something, but clearly it doesn’t. If the police can’t help in this situation, then who can?
A group screaming and wailing past midnight several nights a week really isn’t a minor inconvenience easily brushed off as “just a band practicing.” It’s a repeated disruption that’s starting to seriously weigh on people’s mental health.
How can some people be so careless?
