Sometimes, good neighbors can still be frustrating neighbors.

In this story, a man has generally gotten along well with his neighbors and never had any major complaints about them. However, his wife pointed out that their neighbors’ collection of rundown vehicles affects the appearance of both of their properties. Now, he started wondering if it was something he should be concerned about.

This is a relatable story for homeowners who value curb appeal while trying to maintain good relationships with the people next door. Read the full story below.

I didn’t think much of it, but my wife is not happy, and I am starting to think that way too. What do you all think?

Did my neighbors do anything bad? No. Are they cool? Sure.

It’s 2 retirees that live there with their son and daughter still at the house.

They have 6 to 7 cars parked in their driveway, and 4 of those cars have broken windows or flat tires.

Sometimes, they park a car in front of our house on the street.

This man’s wife thinks the neighbor’s cars make their property look messy.

For months, I did not really care.

There were no cars on our driveway, and they are not taking up all the street parking.

Their driveway is long and can fit up to 8 cars.

What upset my wife is that the cars make the house look messy and makes ours look messy, too.

Now, he’s wondering if he should be concerned about it.

We share the driveway with no dividers.

She especially does not like that 4 of the cars are run down and not fixed.

Should I start caring about this?

I didn’t think much of it, but after wife brought it up I started to think about it.

It sounds like less of a conflict and more of a difference of expectations. The neighbors aren’t causing obvious harm, but appearances can still bother the people living next door. Therefore, I think OP’s concerns are understandable.
