Some customers seem to think every employee in the building should be able to do every job.

That’s exactly what happened to one retail worker who was handling a project near the front of the store.

When the checkout lines started getting long, a customer asked him to ring her up.

The only problem was that he was not a cashier and hadn’t been trained on the register.

But when he explained that to her, things took a turn for the worse.

Read on to see what happened next.

If you work here why are you not on a register trained? You’re a liar and I’m getting a manager!

I was up front doing a project for my manager. I am not a cashier, and I am not register-trained.

The lines were getting long, and this one customer comes over to me. “Sir, can you check me out?”

I just look at her like she’s lost her mind.

First, I’m not behind a register; I’m in the main aisle, and second, I’m not a cashier and can’t just open up a register to ring her out.

Angry, she demanded to speak with the manager.

I explain to her that I’m an associate, not a cashier, and am not register-trained.

She gets mad and calls me a liar and screams that she’s going to tell my manager and I’m going to get fired.

I just laugh and tell her to go ahead.

She was bluffing, or so I thought, as she stormed off.

Luckily, the manager had his back.

A few minutes later, she came back with a manager. She explains that I “refused her service” and am texting on my phone instead of helping on register.

The manager, J, who is just a CSM, just looks at her like she’s crazy. “Ma’am, he’s just an associate and isn’t register-trained. We have X lines open now.”

She storms off and calls us “lazy pieces of work” and says how she will “never shop at this dump again.”

I’ll never understand how these people can function in life.

Wow! Hopefully, she keeps her word.

Let’s see what the readers over at Reddit think.

That’s a good question.

This lady was just looking for a reason to be mad.

Not every employee in a store is trained to do every job, and it’s crazy to even think that they are.

Plus, to completely discredit someone to their face and act like they’re lying is beyond rude.

Congrats to this cashier for keeping his cool because other people may not have been so nice.
