Having a sibling is not always easy, and having a twin can be especially hard for kids at birthday parties.
Sharing a birthday with your sibling usually means sharing the attention, the cake and the celebration.
In this case, a woman’s friends organized a birthday party for her, but when she asked her twin sister if she would like to be included, she said no… Only to be upset when the cake didn’t have her name on it.
She tried her best to make her sister feel included, but she still didn’t feel happy about how things turned out.

AITA for not thinking the birthday cake only having my name on it was a big deal?
My twin sister (25) and I (25) share a birthday. This year my friends threw a birthday party for me.
When the people planning it asked my sister if she wanted to invite some of her own people so it could be for both of us, she said no.
This information is very relevant.
Even though it ended up being my party with my friends, I made a real effort to include her anyway.
We sang happy birthday to her, I made sure we got a photo of her with the cake, I toasted to her in front of everyone, and I genuinely wanted her to feel celebrated.
My boyfriend offered to handle the cake, which I thought was sweet. It said “Happy Birthday [my name]” on it.
Since it was technically my party, I didn’t think much of it, and when we took her photo with the cake I even turned it to the side that didn’t have my name showing so it wasn’t in her face.
She was still hurt that the cake only had my name and not hers.
Things got awkward.
I apologized, told her I understood, and offered to make it up to her by baking her whatever cake or dessert she wants and taking her out to dinner.
Here’s where I might be the *******. She thinks I’m not taking it seriously enough and that I shouldn’t be the one apologizing at all, my boyfriend should.

I keep thinking she had the chance to make it a joint thing and chose not to, and that I bent over backwards to include her anyway, so a name on a cake at a party that was mine shouldn’t be the hill to die on.
