There’s No Rule Saying That Spot Is Hers — But His Neighbor Reacts Like There Is, Every Time

Some people have weird ideas about parking spots around their homes, and you need to try to get along with your neighbors whenever possible.
What would you do if every time you or a friend parked in front of your neighbor’s house, she would get really upset and quickly go outside to make her anger obvious?
That is what happened to the guy in this story, and when he confronted her to see what the problem was, she got irrationally upset. Now he wants to try to keep the peace, but also protect himself from any reaction she may have, so he is asking for ideas.
Personally, I think he needs to put up security cameras and try to avoid this neighbor as much as possible. Read through the full story below and see what you think.
Mad about parking on street
My wife and I moved into our current home about a year ago. We rarely talk to our neighbors and seem to be on good terms with everyone around us.
Were they upset that he had people over?
That was until this family of a single mom and teenage boys started living across the street.
One night I had some fellas over for some bro time and within weeks after that night, the neighbors cars across the street would be parked in front of our home at various times and sometimes left overnight. (Totally fine, because it’s a public street.)
It is great when the community comes together to help others.
After my wife and I had our first kid, our church community started a meal train for us and various families visited and dropped off a meal.
One evening, the friend that visited this time parked on our neighbors side of the street. This friend was here for maybe 15 mins?
What is this lady’s problem?
I look out my window and see the mother very aggressively get into her car and parked directly in front of the house again, getting out and having what looked like a hissy fit walking back to her home, yelling and screaming.
I kept watching and didn’t mention anything to anyone because I didn’t want to freak out our friend when they decided to leave. When they did leave, I watched over them so that crazy woman didn’t try anything on them.
It isn’t like they parked in her driveway.
They left and the mother came out again and walked to their car to move it back into their driveway. This time I confronted her and asked what the problem was.
She started spouting out something that we can’t park on her side because it’s just “common courtesy” and “we don’t park on your side so don’t park on ours.”
This lady is nuts.
First of all, it’s not illegal and who actually cares? She keeps rambling on and said how she heard we’re jerk neighbors and when I asked who said that, she wouldn’t give a response and kept moving back to the parking situation.
I said to her, “your reaction to all this was absolutely unnecessary.” And I swear to you, she gave me the most empty death stare I ever got from someone, she was like that for a few seconds until she went back to yelling.
He doesn’t want to cause problems.
Oh, I forgot, she also brought her son out there with her because she thought I was gonna fight her or something 😭😭 but he did not look like he wanted to be there and started to walk back as soon as I stepped out onto my porch and started confronting his mother.
So, ever since then, I was “courteous” and made sure to tell anyone that visited, that they park on our side.
She is basically stalking these people.
Meanwhile she installed a second security camera that point towards our house. Fast forward to 6 AM today, my wife moved my truck in front of the mail boxes (which are on our side) accidentally and not even a minute later, that mom comes out and parks right behind my truck, honking her horn and waking everyone up.
I get dressed and moved my truck up so it’s out of the way of the mailboxes, at this point I’m done with it all and just wanna go back to sleep.
Things are starting to escalate.
That mom comes out when I go in and as shes walking back in, my wife heard her saying “your wife ain’t pregnant no more, have her come outside.”
I immediately thought it was a threat but im not so sure. It’s 6 am anyways, the truck was gonna be gone way before the mail man showed up 😅
Document everything and put up your own cameras.
I just don’t know what to do at this point but to keep civil and document everything in case the police ever have to get involved.
What would yall do in this situation?
People like this can be unhinged, and you have to be careful how you interact with them. Putting up security cameras for your own protection is the best move.

Always document everything. File a police report if needed.

Here is someone who is going through something similar.

This person says he is handling the sitaution well.

She has no right to harass them.

Getting cameras is essential.

Documenting everything is very important, and it should be done in an obvious way. Showing the neighbor that her actions will be recorded might make her back off a little bit.
While it can be tempting, he shouldn’t try to escalate the issue by going out of his way to upset her, though.
