Sometimes, even a helpful gesture can become stressful when the timing is not right.
In this story, a woman was upset when her dad suddenly decided to drive her without giving her enough notice.
She had carefully planned her morning around an important day of submitting documents for her school internship.
While she appreciates the gesture, she didn’t like that she had to rush to get ready.

AITA for her mad with my dad even if he has good intentions?
I’m a 23-year-old woman from México. This problem isn’t a big deal, but it’s really bothering me.
This week I have been extremely busy because my school internship begins.
I am studying to be an English teacher in Mexico.
So I’m going back and forth, getting documents out, and planning things at my own pace.
This woman’s dad volunteered to give her a ride.
The problem is that, today, I was going to leave later than usual.
Because, instead of going to university, I’m going to a government institute to hand in documents.
So, I had my own time to get up, get ready, and prepare everything because I’ll be out all day.
My sister also goes early, but not as early as me.
I leave the house at 6 am, and she doesn’t leave until 7:30 am.
So this time, our schedules worked out a bit, and my dad intended to give me a ride.
She appreciated the intention, but she was bothered by the lack of notice.
While I understand and appreciate his intention, he never warned me that he was going to do that.
I can’t assume he’ll do it because he had already told me that I had to get around the city on my own.
Because I’m an adult now. And I never had and still don’t have any problems with that.
But this time it bothered me, not that he wanted to help me.
I’m actually thankful for the intention, but he didn’t give me enough notice.
She felt like she was being rushed because they were already waiting for her.
I couldn’t even finish getting ready or grab everything I needed because they were already waiting for me.
I know it’s a really silly problem and that there are people with real problems out there.
But I’m on the verge of tears from anger.
And I can’t stop thinking about all those times he’s told me that we must respect others’ schedules.
AITA?
Aww… Isn’t that cute? Your dad giving you a ride, even if you are already an independent adult, is always going to be sweet.

Had she known that her dad would be giving her a ride, she would have adjusted her schedule better.
