‘What I Be’ Photo Project Reveals People’s Most Intimate Insecurities
by twistedsifter
What I Be is a project about honesty and empowerment. In the ongoing 1000+ photo series, people are asked to complete the following statement:
“I am not my ____ “
Their response is then manifested as a phrase or ‘label’ and written somewhere on their face or body with a marker. Then a close-up portrait is taken and shared with others. The goal is to spread awareness and generate understanding for what our fellow citizens may be battling with, internally or externally.
The project is the brainchild of Steve Rosenfield, a photographer who has gone through his own journey of personal discovery. You can learn much more about the project at the links below and can see all of the portraits and stories at whatibeproject.com
