Picture of the Day: Hong Kong Density
In this great capture by Steven Wei, we get a feel for the density of Hong Kong. According to this list of the densest places on Earth, Hong Kong ranks #4 with a population density of 6,624 people per square kilometer and 17,156 people per square mile.
For an area that’s over 1,100 square kilometers in size and a population of over 7.3 million, that’s staggering. Hong Kong also features a high density of tall buildings and boasts the second largest number of high rises (buildings 12 stories or higher) in the world.
