Nobody ever said that working in retail was easy.
In fact, a lot of folks would venture to say that it’s hazardous to your health!
In today’s story, a retail worker shared what happened when a couple of crazy customers decided to be major pains on Christmas Eve, of all nights.

When crazy walks in on Christmas Eve!
“Christmas Eve definitely brought out the worst in people.
Aside from the usual complaints of closing early at 6 pm, most people were nice and happy and lots of Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas was flying around.
We had two people that we are still talking about because they stood out in all the wrong ways:
Customer 1:
Wanted to pay for $18 worth of merchandise with all pennies! She was around 20 years old, extremely dirty hands, and long sleeves. She was definitely on some type of drug.
This sounds pretty annoying…
She was asking every one in line if they would take her pennies. She got up to the cashier and he said “I’m not counting that. Stand over here to the side and count that out.”
She did but that was a nightmare and I had the cashier put the pennies in a bag (as it did not fit in the register.)
I legitimately did not want to count that out at the end of the night so I put my own $18 in and went to the change counter machine and dumped it in.
Customer 2:
Legitimately walked in screaming on some items she was looking for. She walked in with a party of 5: some kids, and a friend or a sister.
What a delightful customer!
Every time she went up an aisle, we could hear her screaming over people and the music that “I CAN’T FIND IT! THIS PLACE IS A DUMP!”
When I got the chance to break free, I came over to assist her because I could see the parting of the ocean where people would stay far away from her. I asked if I could help.
She starts screaming off her list, which was every holiday themed items and naturally we are completely sold out of every thing.
This lady was off her rocker.
She gets more furious and tells me to go look in the back. When I tell her that all holiday items are out, she demands my name. Demands to speak to the owner because of course she knows him, she’s known him for many years, and he will find a way to magically get these items.
She called the cops. Yes, she called the cops (or possibly asked them to come in as there are always some patrolling the area) to tell them that I would not sell her some holiday items that she swore were in the back room and that the owner would never treat her this way.
So during my very busy long day, I had to take time away from other customers and staff who could have really used my help to talk to two police officers in my back office to clear this up.
When they asked who the owner was, I told them it was me, the store has only been open for 2.5 years, and I have never met that woman in my life!”
