One of the hardest things to train a dog to do is to wait while their favorite food is in front of them, especially when you leave them alone in the room with the food.

Some dogs are really good at it, even when their feline friend comes and steals the food away.

A Golden Retriever named Donut has lots of videos on TikTok, so her owners wanted to show off her obedience. The video starts with the dog sitting nicely in front of a table as the owner sets a delicious hot dog right in front of them. The caption on the video reads, “Tried the “Leave It” trend with my dog…Wait for the end.”

That is one cute dog.

The human leaves the hot dog there and leaves the room with the dog being recorded. The dog clearly wants that food, but it won’t even look at it. The caption changes to, “Sped this part up because he’s a good boy and made the smart decision to avoid eye contact with the hot dog.”

He really is a good dog.

But then a cat starts climbing on the table, looking at the hot dog. The dog looks worried. They put up a caption of the dog saying, “Ummm, anyone seeing this? Mom?? Dad?? Anyone??”

The cat then goes and grabs the hot dog, leaving the dog looking sad and drooling.

That poor dog!

The human comes back in the room and realizes what happened, and she laughs. Don’t worry, though. She said that she gave the dog a bite of a hot dog as a reward for being so good.

That cat is a thief.

I can’t believe the dog just let it happen. Most humans wouldn’t behave that well.
