When you work at a cash register, it’s important to make sure no money goes missing. Otherwise, you could get in big trouble. You may have to make up the difference, or you may even get fired if a lot of money is missing.
In this story, one employee is freaking out because over $500 is missing from his cash register. He’s worried he’s going to get fired. He’s also pretty sure his supervisor stole the money. I’m pretty sure he’s right.

Today my direct supervisor stole 500 dollars and is planning on pinning it on me.
Today i listened to my instinct.
I took a cash report off the register when i walked in. I took a few more to keep an idea of what sales were since we were getting rocked by mariners and sounders fans.
End of the night im missing over 500 dollars cash.
Im in near panic, prepared to look for another job, or worse accused of larceny which sends me to prison no matter what if i lose at trial, because i do have a few felonies already from well…
He’s really upset.
That report i took when i walked in the store. Is 587.20 in sales.
I am so freaking furious! And ive already texted the owner to call me in the morning.
And im so glad i listened to my instinct and held on to that report through my shift, which came out to 1600 in sales for me by myself. 400 in tips tonight alone.
He’s pretty sure he knows who took the money.
For added context. The person i took over for is headed to las vegas right now, and also told me he didnt think i had it as a server.
Funny, the same thing was told to me by the last server who i looked up to. He got fired for theft the very next day.
Even more ironically i told the guy today that i was worried about his personal issues as a friend. And i also told him that the last server to tell me that very thing and got fired the next day. WHAT THE HECK! This just sucks…
i might even post the pictures of the reports i have just for my own safety. they don’t show the name of my employer, and we’re not the only restaurant in Seattle of course.
Why do innocent people keep getting fired? If OP can connect the dots here, hopefully the owner can too.

I hope the owner can connect the dots. It does seem obvious that the supervisor is setting up the employees to take the fall when he steals from the business. The supervisor is the one who should get fired, not OP.
