Her New Neighbor Won’t Stop Making Noise in the Middle of the Night—And It’s Keeping Her Awake

You know what really grinds my gears as I get older?
People who don’t know how to shut up!
Sure, we all have times where we like to run our mouths, but you gotta know when to put a lid on it and zip your lip!
Of course, there are bound to be those who, for some reason, simply can’t help themselves.
In today’s story, a woman explained why the neighbor who lives downstairs from her is putting a real damper on her life.
Check out what she had to say.
10 pm – 3 am phone call every night?
“A new downstairs neighbour has moved in and begins talking on the phone from 10 pm to 3 am and beyond every single night.
I’ve got recordings now too because I was so frustrated, but of course I’ve been trying to sleep early so I don’t actually hear it so I don’t have that many recordings.
The sound insulation of this building is really bad which I know because I can hear when he coughs loudly and my old downstairs neighbour used to complain about me walking around.
She’s getting tired of this…
It’s been like 2 weeks of this and I don’t know what to do.
I have carpet underlay/rug. I don’t know if it counts as excessive since I can also hear him cough?
I don’t really want to approach him unless he’s doing it on purpose (I tried the thumping method to get him to shut up but it was ignored).
I haven’t actually even met him or seen him.
Now what is she supposed to do…?
I want to complain but I don’t want things to be hostile.
Part of me is like okay so then on the weekends I can stay on the phone for as long as I want at night if this is the case and he can’t complain. But yeah you get my gist.
I’m currently resorting to white noise and loops. I also hope to get some night time earphones soon.

If you enjoyed this story, check out this post about people who have to go to court to get their land back after their neighbor sells it.
And this individual offered a tip.

This is a tough one…
I’d say she needs to invest in a high-powered fan to drown out all the noise.
But, if that fails…
She might want to think about finding a new place to live…
