He Felt Unsafe Because Of His Neighbor’s Strange Behavior, And Repeated Police Calls Still Didn’t Fix It

Living next to a hostile neighbor can become frightening if the harassment keeps going.
The following story is about a man who started feeling uncomfortable because his neighbor acted strangely and aggressively.
The neighbor had accused him of vandalism and shouted insults near his home.
Even after calling the police multiple times, the situation remained unresolved.
Uh oh! Feeling unsafe in your own home is a serious problem. Let’s take a closer look!
It’s only gotten worse…
I posted a year ago about my neighbor being an absolute lunatic who accused me and my significant other of vandalism.
They installed 5 cameras and exhibited other peculiar, erratic behaviors.
I’ve known this man my whole life, and this only started recently. Now, it’s gotten progressively worse.
This man had called the cops numerous times.
He’s accusing me of pouring acid on his car, hacking his cameras, and placing RIP signs on his lawn on Halloween.
And I can’t even recall what else.
He stands outside and says hateful things over the fence, not directly at us, but it is implied.
We’ve called the cops numerous times, and nothing has been done.
The cops would show up and talk to the neighbor… but that’s it.
Then tonight… It’s midnight, and he’s out back singing.
He’s done this a few nights in a row now, and my mom’s fed up.
She calls in a noise complaint, and the cops show up and ask him if he could just reel it in.
The second they leave, he not only ramps it up.
But also takes it upon himself to walk back and forth in front of our house, yelling that we are criminals by name, by the way.
He says that we are cowards and jerks (couldn’t help but laugh at that part).
As soon as they left, the neighbor would continue making noise and bullying them.
So, my mom called the cops again, and what did they do? Nothing.
Two cars came up and spoke with him for 30 minutes while he yelled about how evil we were, and how no one ever took his claims seriously.
Then, they just told him to calm down, and they left!
I’m not sure what to expect going forward. I’m fearful for my life at this point.
I do think he might just be all talk, but this is getting out of hand, and law enforcement isn’t doing anything about it.
Yikes! I can imagine how difficult it is living with that kind of neighbor.

What’s more frustrating is that the neighbor’s behavior appears to be escalating, and repeated calls to the police didn’t really solve the problem.
Although it may be a huge inconvenience to him, I guess OP should consider moving to a safer location for some peace of mind.
