A peaceful home can be hard to enjoy when neighbors have constantly barking dogs.
In this story, a man was dealing with his neighbor who had two dogs that barked whenever anything caught their attention.
He had already spoken to the owners and even tried anti-barking equipment, but nothing seemed to change.
Frustrated by the constant noise, he decided to fight the barking with a version of “barking” he came up with.

AITA- Neighbors leave their dogs out all day & most of the night
Neighbors have 2 dogs on an invisible fence that they leave out all the time.
The dogs have access to the entire yard, but no shelter.
In addition to this, my other concern is they are easily triggered into barking fits.
A neighbor walks by the lot, their kids are playing in the yard, or an acorn falls in the woods 2 miles away.
All are reasons for barking fits.
This man’s dogs get triggered by his neighbor’s dogs.
Their dogs’ incessant barking has been the topic of conversation on the neighborhood FB page.
Additionally, they seem to have developed a 6th sense for when my dogs go outside, even when mine rarely bark or make any noise.
Then, both their dogs run to the fence line and bark like crazy.
Not only does it make it impossible to enjoy being outside, but it triggers one of my dogs, who then tries to get at the neighbors’ dogs.
We have a physical fence where the dogs can’t get within 10 yards of each other.
He decided to put a large speaker in his yard and directed it to the neighbor’s property.
We have spoken to the neighbors. “That’s what dogs do,” they say.
I have purchased and installed anti-barking equipment that does not work for them. Nothing.
So recently, I started putting a large speaker in the yard.
I directed at the neighbors, with the volume all the way up and playing the sound of dogs barking.
My wife says this makes me the jerk. Your thoughts/suggestions?
I can understand why OP reached his breaking point. He tried reasonable solutions, but he was dismissed every time.
However, playing barking sounds at a large outdoor speaker could easily escalate the neighborhood feud.
