by Matthew Gilligan

Sadly, the legendary David Bowie passed away in 2016 at the age of 69 but his music and other creations continue to live on with his fans and will undoubtedly be discovered by new folks for generations to come.

An example of one such performance is a video released by David Bowie News that features eight hours of uncut footage from the singer’s rock movie The 1980 Floor Show. In the 1973 concert film that was shot at London’s Marquee Club, Bowie starred as the character Ziggy Stardust for the final time. NBC broadcast the concert on November 16, 1973 on The Midnight Special TV show and it introduced David Bowie to American audiences.
