Nirvana Members Talk About What the Band Means to Them in a Rare Interview From 1990
This 1990 interview with Nirvana took place at the University of Washington on January 6, 1990. Notably, the three-piece band at the time did not yet include drummer Dave Grohl, who joined the band later. The drummer at this time was Chad Channing.
The interview was filmed for a TV show for Seattle station KIRO-7 but never made it on the air. Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Channing talk about who they are and what the band means to them. They also talk about the Seattle music scene and what it was like to tour Europe.
The year after the interview, Nirvana’s “Nevermind” album catapulted the band to superstardom.
