Real Life Iron Man Flying Suit
by twistedsifter
Richard M. Browning, an ex-Royal Marine reservist is “inspired by doing things that haven’t been done”. The 38-year-old Browning has developed an Iron Man inspired flying suit in his garage in Salisbury, UK during the past 10 months and he’s named it after the Greek mythological figure Daedalus, the father of Icarus.
Propulsion comes from six miniature, kerosene-powered jet engines—similar to those used in jet-powered model aeroplanes—which are mounted on the arms and the lower back. The six turbines provide about 130 kg of combined thrust.
